Mortenson Trail is a 4.3-mile out-and-back hike in the Cedar City Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 8,000 feet to a high point of 9,061 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,045 feet, and is rated moderate. The route is natural-surfaced and allows bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. It stays open year-round, and the nearest town is Cedar City. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Brian Head weather station, about 16 miles away, show July highs near 71°F with lows around 42°F, while winter highs there sit in the 20s. Several other trails lie close by. Little Creek Peak Trail is under a mile away, and Delong Creek Trail and Trail Creek are both within 2 miles. For an overnight stay, White Bridge campground is about 7 miles off.
