Lowder Ponds Trail is a 4.4-mile out-and-back hike in the Cedar City Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in Utah. The trail rises from a low point of about 9,987 feet to a high point of about 10,955 feet, with a total elevation gain of 973 feet. It is a hard route, and the climb is steep enough to make it a significant challenge on foot or on a mountain bike, which is allowed. The most comfortable stretch for the hike is midsummer. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 68°F and lows near 51°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s with lows in the teens. The station sits a few hundred feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run slightly cooler. The trail is open year-round. Two other hikes, Dark Hollow Trail and Sidney Peak Trail, start just 0.1 mile away. Climbers can find The Starting Block about 2.3 miles off, and Panguitch Lake is roughly 8 miles away.
