The Duchesne River hike is a 6.2-mile out-and-back on natural surface in the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. The trail climbs from about 9,018 feet to about 9,997 feet, a gain of 966 feet, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open to horses. The trail is a straightforward climb, and the high point sits just under 10,000 feet. The East Fork Duchesne River hike lies about 0.4 miles away, and the Hoover Lake Loop is about 0.9 miles off. Packard Lake, a fishing spot, is about 1.2 miles away, and the Wall Of Tiers climbing area is about 1.7 miles away.
