Blackhawk is a hard hike in the Spanish Fork Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah, about 8 miles from the town of Pines. The trail is an out-and-back of roughly 30 miles, with a one-way climb of about 3,450 feet from a low point near 6,938 feet to a high point around 8,430 feet. The route is on natural surface, and the Forest Service allows both horses and bikes. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July highs around 74°F with lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay around 30°F. Black Canyon and the Sawmill Nebo Creek Trail are both within 2 miles. Bear Canyon Campground and the Bald river fishing spot are each about 4 miles away.
