Meeks Cabin Campground sits on the banks of Meeks Cabin Reservoir, at about 8,700 feet on Bureau of Land Management land in the Kemmerer Field Office. The reservoir straddles the line between Utah and the southwest corner of Wyoming. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Moon Lake weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, show July and August highs around 77°F with lows in the upper 40s. Winter is cold, with January highs near 31°F and lows around 7°F. Vault toilets are the only amenity at the site, and a fee is charged for stays. The closest neighbor is the campground itself, with Little Lyman Lake and Lyman Lake about 4 miles away. The Middle Fork Blacks Fork Trail is also within about 4 miles.
