Lower Provo River

Lower Provo River Campground sits along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah, within the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the campground lies near the shores of the Provo River. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Kamas weather station show July highs around 84°F with lows near 50°F, and September still runs in the mid-70s. That station sits about 900 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run cooler. Vault toilets are the only facility on site. A fee is charged for stays. The Scenic Byway Trail and Pine Valley are both about 0.3 miles away, and Shingle Creek ATV is roughly 1.6 miles off.
