Main Dome South is a climbing area within Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Texas, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of bouldering and mixed climbing spots, with The Dairy Farm / Frog Pond Boulders and Turkey Peak both about 0.1 mile away and the Lost Wall Area about 0.2 mile off. The Summit Trail starts roughly 0.3 mile away. The area is best suited to bouldering, with 12 of its 14 routes falling into that style. The mixed routes, such as Ding Dongs and Taco Sauce at 5.11c, are a smaller part of the mix. Grades run from V0 to V3 on the V scale and from 5.8 to 5.12a on the YDS scale. Rombatron is the hardest boulder route at 5.12a. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Fredericksburg show April highs around 78°F and October highs around 79°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. Paddlers can find Sandy Creek about 7.5 miles away and Hickory Creek about 8.2 miles away.
