Atlas Mountain Bike Trail is a short, out-and-back route in Tennessee, about a mile from the town of Summit. The trail is managed by the Department of Defense and is rated hard, with a total climb of about 400 feet over a 3.8-mile round trip. The high point is 1,008 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.2 miles in, with a 10% grade. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chattanooga show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar. That station sits about 337 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. The trail sits close to several other outdoor spots. Black Forest Mountain Bike Trail and the TNT Mountain Bike Trail are both about 0.1 mile away, and the ADA Loop is about 0.2 mile off. Wolftever Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3.3 miles away.
