Peg Leg Mine Trail is a short, easy hike in the Watauga Ranger District of Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee. The trail is about 0.3 miles long, and the round trip adds up to roughly 0.6 miles with a total climb of about 188 feet. The route is an out-and-back, and the high point sits at about 2,805 feet. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 80°F.
