Surfers Egg is a bouldering area in Rhode Island, about half a mile from the town of Purgatory. It is a single boulder problem, Tidal Toes, rated V2 on the V scale. The area is small, with only one route, so plan on a short visit. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Newport put July and August highs in the upper 70s, with lows around 64°F. Winters are cold, with January highs near 39°F and a few snowy days each month from December through February. The closest trails are the Ocean View Loop Trail, about 1.4 miles away, and the Flint Point Loop Trail, about 1.5 miles away. The Cliff Walk is about 3.2 miles off, and Little Creek Preserve is about 3.4 miles away.
