Elk State Park is a 6,485-acre state park in western Pennsylvania, about 7 miles from the town of Wilcox. It is managed by the state park agency, State Park and Recreation. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 79°F and September highs near 71°F, while winter brings highs in the 30s and regular snow days from December through February. Paddlers can head to the East Branch Clarion River, about 4 miles away. Hikers have the Eagle Trail at roughly 6 miles and the West Creek Recreational Trail and Knox & Kane Rail Trail within about 10 miles.
