Meadow Run Trail is a short, back-loaded out-and-back route in Butler Township Park in Pennsylvania, set at about 1,200 feet. The trail is only about half a mile long, with a total climb of about 94 feet, and it reaches a high point of about 1,237 feet before returning to its low point of about 1,189 feet. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 5% grade, and the trail is close enough to the town of Butler to make an easy addition to a day of cross-country skiing in the area. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Butler put January highs around 34°F with lows near 17°F, and February is similar at about 37°F and 18°F. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other cross-country ski trails lie within a short distance.
