Big Maple Run is a mountain biking route in Pennsylvania, set within the Asbury Woods Nature Center, a non-governmental land unit. The ride is rated easy and runs on flat ground, with no elevation gain at all. That makes it a straightforward outing for riders who want to stay on level terrain. The most comfortable months for a ride are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Erie show June highs around 77°F and September highs around 74°F, with July and August the warmest at about 80°F. Winters are cold, with January highs near 35°F. Dogs are allowed on the route as long as they are leashed. The Greenway Trail and Creek Trail both start within a quarter mile, so riders can easily link them together. For time on the water, Elk Creek offers canoeing about 6 miles away, and Presque Isle Bay has lake fishing about 7 miles off.
