788 Dirt Circus is a short but intense black diamond mountain biking route in Oregon, about 4.5 miles from the town of Perry. The 0.41-mile out-and-back is a technical gauntlet of mixed surfaces that demands advanced bike handling and precise line choice. Its circus-themed name and difficult rating hint at a playground of technical challenges, and the one-way format lets riders session specific features and build confidence on the demanding terrain. The climb rises from about 4,041 feet to 4,050 feet, with a total gain of 557 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.21 miles, with a 14% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby La Grande weather station show July and August highs in the mid-80s with only three or four wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 39°F and a few snow days. Several other routes sit close by, including 775 Depends and 790 Link, each about 0.1 mile away, and 765 Slammer at 0.3 mile. Climbers can head to Concert Hall, about 3.7 miles off.
