Ridge Rider - Warner Loop is a 17.8-mile out-and-back trail in southern Oregon, crossing the boundaries of Crooked River National Grassland and Ochoco National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's natural surface makes it a practical route for horses and bikes, both of which are allowed. The climb is back-loaded, with the high point at 3,357 feet and the steepest stretch at about 3.3 miles, where the grade reaches 11%. The total elevation gain is 1,320 feet, and the round trip reaches about 1,200 feet of drop. The start sits at 3,338 feet, so the trail begins on higher ground and climbs from there. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Grizzly, at a similar elevation, run to highs around 84°F in July with only a few wet days. Winter brings highs in the low 40s and a few snow days a month. The trail is open year-round. Ridge Rider - Cole Loop starts just 0.1 mile away, and Gray Butte Trail lies about 1.5 miles off. For an overnight stay, Haystack Lake campground is roughly 3.5 miles away. Climbers can find The Fourth Area about 4.6 miles from the trail.
