Sugar Creek Campground and Day Use Area is a Forest Service site in the Paulina Ranger District of the Ochoco National Forest in Oregon. It is one of the most developed recreational sites in the forest, with three moderately accessible campsites and all pathways ADA compliant. The facility sits in a young ponderosa pine forest, straddling a creek and with easy access to a paved Forest Service Road. The day use area offers space for large groups to picnic, and the Sugar Creek Trail provides a short hike and wildlife viewing within the grounds. A fee is charged for recreation here, and the site has vault toilets. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from the nearby Paulina weather station run to highs around 89°F in July, while September cools to about 79°F. Winter highs there stay in the low 40s. Wolf Creek Industrial Campground and Wolf Creek are both about 2 miles away. Beaver Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 5 miles off, and the Black Canyon hike is about 8 miles away.
