South Twin Lake is a Bureau of Reclamation campground in central Oregon, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest and alongside Wickiup Reservoir. The nearby West South Twin campground sits just 0.1 mile away, and North Twin Lake and Sheep Bridge are both about 1.3 miles off, so the surrounding area is a cluster of camping options. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July highs reach about 83°F with lows near 47°F, and August runs nearly as warm, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Wickiup Dam. The station sits at a similar elevation to the lake, so those figures are a fair guide. Vault toilets are the only amenity listed. A fee is charged.
