Clear Lake is a Forest Service campground in the Hood River Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the Forest Service manages the land. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp weather station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. The site has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for use. Little Crater Campground is about 3 miles away, and the Frog Lake Butte Trail #484 is also about 3 miles off. Paddlers can head to Clear Creek, roughly 4.5 miles away, and climbers will find Trillium Lake Crag (Mosquito Butte) about 6.9 miles from the campground.
