Carter Lake Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA of the Siuslaw National Forest in Oregon, about 0.1 mile from the Carter Dunes Trail and 0.2 mile from the Taylor Dunes Trail. It is managed by the Forest Service and is a base for exploring the trail network that starts right at its edge. The most comfortable stretch for a visit runs from July through September, when typical highs reach about 66 to 67°F and lows sit near 50°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Honeyman State Park. Winter is cooler, with typical highs in the upper 40s and lows in the upper 30s from December through February. The campground has flush toilets, and a fee is charged. Nearby options include Siltcoos Lake Trail at about 0.9 mile and Waxmyrtle Campground at about 1.2 miles.
