Alpine Campground

Alpine Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Zigzag Ranger District of Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon, about 2.4 miles from the Government Camp weather station. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site has vault toilets. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Government Camp station show July and August highs around 70°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the mid-30s and rain on most days. A fee is charged. The closest neighbor is Timberline Lodge Ski Area, about 0.4 miles away, and the Yellow Jacket Ski Trail is about 0.7 miles off.
