Wood Thrush is an easy out-and-back hike in the Athens Ranger District of Wayne National Forest in Ohio, about 2.8 miles long with a total elevation gain of 204 feet. The trail runs on natural surface and is not accessible, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The route starts at a low point of about 833 feet and climbs to a high of about 1,002 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.3 miles in, with a grade of about 9 percent. The Tecumseh Trail lies just 0.2 miles away, so it pairs easily with this hike. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall.
