Upper Meadowlark Trail is a short, easy hike in Sycamore State Park in Ohio, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is 0.66 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 35 feet, and it runs from a starting point of about 929 feet to a high point of 945 feet. The route is a point-to-point path rather than a loop, and the steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.11 miles in, with a 10% grade. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dayton show May highs around 74°F and September highs around 79°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. The trail makes an easy addition to a longer walk in the park. Beech Ridge Trail, Storybook Trail and North Heron Run Trail all lie about 0.4 miles away, and South Heron Run Trail is about 0.7 miles off.
