Kid's Nature Zone Trail is a short, easy hike in southern Ohio, about 1.6 miles from the town of Slate Mills. The trail is 0.35 miles long, and the one-way climb is about 89 feet, with the steepest stretch at roughly 13% grade near the 0.23-mile mark. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Chillicothe run to highs around 74°F in May and 79°F in September, while July and August average highs near 85°F. Several other trails sit close by. Hoggard Trail is about 0.1 mile away, Chilo Trail about 0.3 mile, and Southpoint Lookout Trail about 0.5 mile. For climbing, Great Seal State Park is about 7.6 miles away.
