Fox Trail is an easy out-and-back hike of about 4.4 miles on the Tappan Lake property in Ohio, managed by a non-governmental organization. The route starts at roughly 987 feet and climbs to a high point of 1,190 feet, with a total elevation gain of 875 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes within the first 0.06 miles, with a grade of 18 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cadiz show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. The hike takes about two hours. Pine Tree Trail is half a mile away, and Deer Trail and Beach Trail are within about a mile and a quarter. For paddling, Conotton Creek is about 8.4 miles off.
