Camp 2 Trail is a short, easy hike in Zaleski State Forest in southeastern Ohio, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is out and back, about 0.7 miles long, and the one-way climb is 56 feet, with the highest point at 959 feet and the lowest at 877 feet. The steepest part comes at about 0.28 miles in, with an 8% grade. Fall is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Athens run to highs around 76°F in September and 65°F in October, and the station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run a little cooler. Moonville Rail Trail lies about 1.7 miles away, and the Zaleski Backpack Trail - South Loop is about 1.8 miles off. For a longer outing, Old's Hollow Trail is about 2.1 miles away, and Zaleski Forest Horse Camp is about 3.5 miles away for those who want to camp.
