Bullfrog Loop is a short, easy loop hike in the Athens Ranger District of Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 1.3 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 73 feet, and it's rated easy. The trail is a natural-surface loop, and it's not accessible. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. The route has a slight climb, with the steepest stretch at about 0.07 miles in, where the grade reaches about 7 percent. The loop starts and ends at roughly 944 feet, with the high point at about 998 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Athens run to highs around 72°F in May and 76°F in September, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Several other trails sit close by. The Underground is about 0.2 miles away, and Holler Collar and Gorges Curves are each about 0.3 miles off.
