North Country National Scenic Trail in North Dakota is a short, easy hike in the Sheyenne Ranger District of the Dakota Prairie Grasslands, about 1.6 miles from the town of Venlo. The route is a point-to-point walk of about 3 miles, with almost no elevation gain, so it works well as a quick outing. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 82°F with lows near 60°F, while winter highs stay in the teens and 20s.
