Mortimer Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Grandfather Ranger District of the National Forests in North Carolina. It offers both RV and tent camping, with a campground host on site. Flush toilets and a shower are available, and a picnic shelter is on the grounds. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lenoir show October highs around 71°F with lows near 46°F, and April highs around 70°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run slightly cooler.
