Oak Island: Sherril St is a public beach access point on the North Carolina coast, managed by the town of Oak Island and about 2 miles from Caswell Beach. The access has parking, and there is no fee to use it. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Several short trails lie within about 6 miles of the beach.
