Hither Woods is a 557-acre state park in New York, about 2.6 miles from the town of Montauk. The park is managed by the state park agency, State Park and Recreation. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. At a nearby weather station in Montauk, typical July and August highs reach about 80°F, with lows near 66°F, and September averages a milder 73°F. Several trails and riding routes lie close by. Ram Level Road, a mountain biking route, is about 0.3 miles away, and Serpents Back Trail is about half a mile off. Split Rock Road, another mountain biking route, sits about 1.3 miles away, and Elisha's Valley Trail is roughly 1.9 miles away.
