Trail A is a short, nearly flat cross-country ski route in Palisades Park, on regional agency land in New York. The out-and-back trip is about half a mile long, with a high point of 518 feet and a low of 504 feet, and the climb profile is flat with no net gain. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from the Dobbs Ferry-Ardsley weather station, about 4 miles away, put January highs around 40°F and lows near 23°F, while February is slightly milder with highs around 43°F. Those figures are taken at a lower elevation than the trail, so temperatures on the high ground run a little cooler. Trail B lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Long Path; Ski Trail A and Ski Trail B are each about the same distance. Orange Hill Bouldering is about 1.6 miles away for climbers.
