Stonehenge is a climbing area in the Ferris Lake Wild Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, including the Cliffs, Castle and Optimus Prime Boulder, all within about a tenth of a mile. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 77°F with lows near 56°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower, so temperatures at the cliffs may run slightly cooler. The closest hiking is about 2 miles away, on the Long Lake Crossover Trail and Burnt Valley Trail. Long Lake Trail and Spectacle Lake Trail are a little farther, at roughly 3 miles.
