Green Lakes State Park is a New York state park managed by State Park and Recreation, and its climbing area sits within the park's own boundaries. The park is a compact base for bouldering, with four boulder problems clustered in the park's own name. The climbing is all bouldering, and the routes run from V0 to V2 on the V scale. The Hut is the easiest at V0, and Sans Pad is the hardest at V2. The other two are both V1, Classic Dog and Silt. The park's trails are close by, so a visit can easily pair a climb with a walk. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Syracuse show July highs around 82°F with lows near 62°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. Several trails start within a mile, including Round Lake Trail, Old Growth Trail and Rolling Hills Trail. For more climbing, Lake Gulley is about 6.5 miles away.
