Hip Hop is a short, easy mountain biking ride on county land in Westchester, New York, sitting on the County of Westchester's property. The route is out and back, about a quarter mile long, with a high point of 126 feet and a low point of 90 feet. The climb is flat, and the total elevation gain and loss are each about 60 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 4% grade near the start. The ride is so short that the distance and elevation figures are close to the figures for the round trip. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Shrub Oak put May highs around 71°F and September highs around 75°F. That station sits about 336 feet lower than the ride, so temperatures on the trail run a bit cooler. The route is right next to several other places. Dickey Brook Trail and the Switchback mountain bike trail are each about 0.1 mile away, and Blue Mountain Park is also about 0.1 mile away.
