Mitchell Loop is an easy, short loop hike of about 1.6 miles in New York, roughly a mile from the town of Pittsford. It's a low-elevation walk with a total climb of just 10 feet, so the trail stays nearly flat. The high point is 476 feet, and the low point is 443 feet, and the loop is set up to be a simple outing for a stroll on a day close to town. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 81°F and lows near 61°F, while winter brings January highs around 39°F and lows near 16°F. Bikes are allowed, so it works as a ride as well as a walk. Highlands Loop is about half a mile away, and Sugar Bush Loop and Farm Loop are each within about a mile and a half. For time on the snow, Mt. Pittsford Ski Trail is about 2 miles off.
