The Y is a climbing area in New Mexico on land managed by the Department of Energy. It sits within a cluster of climbing spots, with the Y - North Side just 0.1 mile away and The Sewer Crag about 2.8 miles off. The area is also close to the Tsankawi Trail, which lies about 1.1 miles away, and the Anniversary Trail, roughly 2.2 miles away. The climbing here is mixed, with three routes listed. They range from 5.7 to 5.10 on the YDS scale, and all are mixed. The routes are Twin Cracks (5.7), Little Roof (5.8) and Apeshit (aka Cavemantle) (5.10). Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Espanola show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 70°F, while July highs reach about 91°F.
