Deadman

Deadman is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about 3.3 miles long, with a low point of 7,272 feet and a high of 7,619 feet, and the climb totals about 194 feet of elevation gain. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the Sandia Park weather station, about 14.6 miles away, show May highs near 73°F and September highs near 77°F, with lows in the mid-40s. That station sits roughly 590 feet lower than the hike's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Oak Flat lies just 0.1 mile away, and Deadman Sidekick and Sofa King are each about 0.4 mile off. Climbers can find Block Wall about 2.8 miles away.
