Massabesic Lake / Lake Ledges is a climbing area on Manchester Water Works Land in New Hampshire, about 2 miles from the Massabesic Lake weather station. It sits on public land managed by the Manchester Water Works, so plan your visit around that setting. The routes here are all traditional climbs, with five routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.8. Y-Me is the easiest at 5.6, and Learning Curve and Peters Pulpit are the hardest at 5.8. That makes this a good spot for climbers already comfortable with 5.6 to 5.8 trad. Late spring through early fall is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the Massabesic Lake weather station run from highs in the mid-60s in May to the low 80s in July and August, with September still reaching the low 70s. Winter is cold, with January highs near 32°F. Several hikes start close by. Currier Point Trail is about half a mile away, and the Long Trail and North Hayfield Loop are each roughly 1.2 to 1.3 miles off. For more climbing, Londonderry Boulder is about 6.3 miles away.
