Red Loop is a 5.1-mile moderate hike in Oaklands Town Forest in New Hampshire, with a total elevation gain of 295 feet. The route is a point-to-point trail, and the steepest stretch comes at about 4.3 miles, where the grade reaches 11 percent. The trail is open to bikes, and the climb is short enough to fit into a day that also includes mountain biking or climbing. Hamberger Hill and Trailside Boulders sit just 0.1 mile away, and Tunnel Down is about 0.2 mile off. The Yellow Loop hike is 0.3 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Epping run to highs around 82°F in July, with September easing to about 73°F.
