Square Top is a climbing area in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Ely Ranger District and the Cave Creek Roadless Area. The Forest Service manages the land. The climbing here is all sport, with six routes ranging from 5.11d to 5.12c. Smooth Deflorator and Topoline are the two 5.11d routes, and Mon Amour Physic is the hardest at 5.12c. Summer is the warmest time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 89°F and lows near 49°F, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and several snowy days a month from December through February. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures at the top run cooler.
