Boy Scout Canyon is a bouldering area in Nevada's Black Canyon Wilderness, within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The National Park Service manages the land, and the climbing here sits among several other bouldering spots, including Blade Boulder and Pig Rock, each about 0.4 miles away. The canyon's bouldering is all on the V scale, with six routes ranging from V3 to V7+. The easiest is "Diamond in the desert" at V3, and the hardest is "Boom Town" at V7+. "Golden Years" and "Therapeutic torment" are both V5, and "Golden Years Sit Start" is V6. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 81°F and October highs around 84°F, while July averages about 107°F. A fee applies, and the canyon lies within the wilderness, so plan on following the rules for that setting. The closest hiking options are the White Rock Canyon Trail and Liberty Bell Arch Trail, both within about 2.5 miles.
