Rodney Meadow is an easy, 1.4-mile out-and-back hike in the Helena Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana. The route rises from a low point of about 4,462 feet to a high of about 4,673 feet, a climb of 211 feet, and the surface is natural. Bikes are allowed, so it works for hikers and mountain bikers alike. The most comfortable time to go is summer, when typical July and August highs reach about 78°F with lows near 49°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station. Winters are cold, with January highs around 30°F. The trail sits in the Rodney Street area. The Water Line and Black Forest mountain biking routes are within a third of a mile. Climbers can head to Sunset Slab or Mount Helena, both about 1.7 miles away.
