Passage Falls

Passage Falls is an easy out-and-back hike in the Yellowstone Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, about 1.9 miles long with a total elevation gain of 255 feet. The trail rises from a low point of about 6,237 feet to a high of about 6,531 feet, and it is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Yellowstone Park Mammoth, Wyoming, show July highs around 81°F with lows near 48°F, while winter brings highs in the low 30s and regular snow days from December through February. The trail is on natural surface, and it is open to both horses and bikes. Passage Creek is about a mile away, and the Ladyfingers Buttress and Peanuts Wall climbing areas are each about 1.2 miles off. Snowbank Campground, about 3.2 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
