Mann Gulch is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Helena Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 4.5 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,765 feet, taking you from a low point of about 3,640 feet to a high of about 5,184 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Adel, at a similar elevation, show July and August highs around 78°F with lows in the mid-40s, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The trail is open from June 1 to September 30. Bikes are not allowed, and the surface is natural. Meriwether Canyon lies just 0.4 miles away, and Coulter Campground is about 1.2 miles off. Missouri River Canyon is roughly 1.6 miles away, and Willow Creek is about 3.6 miles away.
