Canyon Lake is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, about 11 miles from the town of Geary. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and runs about 7 miles round trip, with a one-way climb of roughly 340 feet from a low point of about 5,737 feet to a high of about 7,108 feet. The route is natural-surface and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The climb is steady rather than steep, and the trail is long enough to pair with another outing nearby. Conger Point sits just 0.1 mile away, and Canyon Point and Falls-Canyon are each about 2 miles off. For paddling, Monture Creek is about 6 miles away.
