Burnt Fork is a hard hike in the Stevensville Ranger District of Montana's Bitterroot National Forest, about 11.6 miles from the town of Bing. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 5,157 feet to about 8,081 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,915 feet over a route of about 17.1 miles. The trail is natural-surfaced, and the Forest Service manages the land. Because the climb is steep and the route is long, plan for a full day on foot. Several other destinations sit close by. Bitterroot Big Springs is less than a mile away, and Flat Rock Creek is about a mile off. Gold Creek Campground is about 2.4 miles away, and Many Horse Peak is about 3.4 miles away.
