Boulder Point Lookout is a moderate out-and-back hike in the West Fork Ranger District of Montana's Bitterroot National Forest. The route covers about 4.7 miles and climbs roughly 2,505 feet from a low point near 5,252 feet to a high point of about 7,747 feet, making it a substantial but doable day on the trail. The trail is a natural surface route, and the Forest Service manages the surrounding land. Ward-Wheeler Creek and Boulder Creek both lie within about a mile and a half, giving hikers options for a shorter outing before or after the climb. Neslon and Trapper Peak are a little farther out at about 2.3 and 2.5 miles, so the area offers several ways to link trips together. Rombo campground sits about 4.3 miles away for an overnight stay, and the Nez Perce Fork, about 5.7 miles off, offers canoeing. Medicine Point Lookout campground is roughly 7.8 miles away.
