Beatrice Saddle is a 5.1-mile out-and-back hike on natural trail surface in the Plains/Thompson Falls Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana. It's a moderate route with a 250-foot elevation gain from the low point at 5,585 feet to the high point at 6,840 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is open year-round, and horses and bikes are allowed. That makes it a versatile outing for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. At a nearby weather station at a similar elevation, July and August typically reach highs around 70°F with lows in the low 50s, and only about six wet days a month. Winters there are cold, with typical January highs near 28°F. Several other hikes and campgrounds sit within a short drive. Terrace Lake is about 1.6 miles away and Mount Headley Cutoff about 2.9 miles. West Fork Fishtrap Creek Campground is about 5.2 miles off, and Fishtrap Creek, a paddling spot, is about 5.6 miles away.
