West Boulder is a Forest Service campground in the west Boulder area of the Yellowstone Ranger District, part of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. It sits on the Yellowstone District of the national forest and is adjacent to a trailhead into the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. The site has vault toilets and charges a fee. The nearby West Boulder Cabin is just 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July highs reach about 82°F with lows near 52°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Livingston. Winter is cold, with January highs around 35°F and lows near 20°F. Close by, the Grouse Creek and Lost Creek hikes start within a mile and a half, and the Natural Bridge and Falls climbing area lies about 5 miles away. East Boulder campground is roughly 8 miles off.
