Summit Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana, about 17 campsites high in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. A 3-mile spur trail links it to the Continental Divide Scenic Trail, which leads into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Adjacent Memorial Square honors Theodore Roosevelt and the Blackfeet tribe with a miniature Washington Monument. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at E Glacier show July and August highs around 74°F with lows in the mid-40s, while winter highs stay near 30°F. The campground has vault toilets, and a fee is charged. Mandatory food storage is required because bears may frequent the area. Keep all food in approved containers and remove it from the site after eating. Nearby, the Summit Campground Cutoff mountain biking route is under a mile away, and the Autumn Creek and Kraigs Trail-Pike Cr hikes are each about a mile off.
